Road in Yellow Pine forest
Along the road in relatively dry Yellow Pine (Pinus ponderosa) forest. The Pine Elfin (Incisalia eryphon), Western Tailed Blue (Everes amyntula) and Nelson's Hairstreak (Mitoura nelsoni) occur here--among others. Pale Swallowtails (Papilio eurymedon) "patreol" in late spring.
